Candle Burning Tips

To help you get the most out of your candles, we would like to offer the following suggestions:
  • Most manufacturers say to keep the wick trimmed to 1/4 inch (6mm) but our all cotton wicks are self-trimming and none of this is required with Comfort Candles!
  • Burning most candles no longer than 3 to 4 hours at a time will increase total burn time.
  • Keep burning candles away from drafts, vents, ceiling fans and air currents.  This will help prevent rapid, uneven burning and avoid flame flare-ups and sooting.
  • Container candles should be burned at least 1 hour for each inch of diameter at a time. This allows the wax pool to cover the entire surface, improves scent throw, and extends the burning time.

Did you know?

The best way to extinguish a candle is to gently push the wick into the wax pool with a metal “wick dippers”, which is a readily available and inexpensive tool.  After dipping the wick into the wax pool, return it to a standing position immediately to enable quick & easy lighting next time. This eliminates the smoke that is created when a candle is blown out!
